Sesame Solar Selected to Advance in Sourcewell Ventures Civic Solutions Challenge

We’re excited to share that Sesame Solar has been selected to advance to the pilot phase of the Sourcewell Ventures Civic Solutions Challenge, a program designed to identify practical technologies that can help public agencies better serve their communities.
Sesame Solar was one of nine finalists invited to present at Smart Cities Connect in National Harbor, Maryland, where innovators showcased solutions for government operations, public safety, emergency response, and community well-being.

For Sesame Solar, the challenge was a natural fit. Our Mobile Nanogrids are designed to give public agencies reliable power when and where they need it most, whether that means supporting emergency response, keeping communications online during an outage, or bringing power to locations where the grid is unavailable.
The recognition is especially meaningful because the Civic Solutions Challenge is focused on solving real problems faced by public agencies. It also creates an opportunity for our solutions to be tested through a structured pilot with a public agency partner.
“Sesame Solar’s Mobile Nanogrids are already trusted by public agencies across the U.S. By being the selected innovation partner of the Sourcewell Ventures Civic Solutions Challenge, we will have the opportunity to scale our Mobile Nanogrids to more cities, counties, local law enforcement agencies, and military departments who will benefit from our fuel-free, off-grid energy solutions,” said Lauren Flanagan, CEO and co-founder of Sesame Solar.
